Players who want to play and have fun are "participants". Players who work hard in practice and games are "competitors". Players who do what's right all the time are "champions".
If doing the 'little things' bores you, if teaching the fundamentals bores you, if following 'the process' bores you, then I hope failure is not something that bores you. Because you are going to experience frequent failure without a keen attention to detail.
